Vintage 1960's Horikawa Japan SH Tin Litho Toy Space Rifle H-1002 For Repair

Up for sale is a rare, mid-century vintage tin lithograph toy rifle manufactured by Horikawa S. This model features the iconic space-age, side-by-side alternating reciprocating barrels, built to simulate a high-tech "pom-pom" firing action when functional. It also includes a mechanical gear window coupled with a classic faux wood-grain lithographed stock. The motorized function does not currently operate when tested.

Model Number: H-1002 (Stamped on frame). Country of Origin: Made in Japan. Material: Tinplate / Metal body with a clear polystyrene mechanism shield. Estimated Era: Late 1960s - Early 1970s. The internal motor, gear rotation, and sequential lighting mechanisms do not engage by motor. Ideal candidate for a collector who specializes in vintage toy electronic repair. Battery Compartment: Exc ellent / Clean. The terminal plates are completely free of green or white battery acid corrosion, scaling, or structural rust damage. The transparent top shield housing the red gears and internal bulbs remains firmly attached to the metal casing. There are some hairline fractures along the plastic border edges due to natural aging, but it is structurally sound with no missing shards or caving. The faux wood-grain printing on the buttstock and the metallic details on the receiver retain vibrant color. There is some light surface rust/oxidation along the buttstock, along with minor play wear scuffs typical for an authentic tin toy of this age.
